Summer celebration – indoor ceremony at Brazos Hall
Indoor ceremony in the summer!
Central Texas summers are hot! Having an indoor ceremony is highly recommended. The flowers will thank you along with your guests. Brazos Hall is one of Austin’s favorite wedding venues. It has a great rooftop space that can be used for both ceremony and cocktails, but our summer bride chose to get married downstairs with a “flip”- more on that later.
The Indoor Ceremony.
Brazos Hall has an urban modern feel to it. K+R chose to have the ceremony in front of one of the metal doors. It is framed by exposed brick and vintage wooden floors. The door was decorated with lush, summer foliage, blooms, and a few candles. After the ceremony, this space became the backdrop for the dessert display. The candles were removed and placed on dinner tables.
The reception.
The reception featured black linens with gold accents. A statement floral was suspended above the head table. It was a lush combination of foliage and simple hanging globes with candles. It also had a beautiful runner of mixed foliage, including ferns ( the brides middle name). The guest tables had centerpieces of candles. Remember, the ones from the ceremony- and also another variety – both types had greenery and a few blooms. The bride supplied a few modern geometric elements that were strategically placed amongst the centerpieces.
Dessert Display.
Because of the indoor ceremony choice, we were able to display the desserts in the same location as the ceremony. As you can see, the dessert table featured a variety of favorite cakes. This display was set during the “flip”. The flip is the timeframe used by the vendors to reset the ceremony into the reception. There are pros and cons to choosing this idea. When you are ready to discuss your wedding details, we will be happy to walk you through them.
