Prospect House- Fall Wedding
Does September count as a fall wedding?
This late September wedding at The Prospect House was filled with warm fall tones, a pair of grooms and an abundant amount of pampas grass! The Prospect House is one of our most unique venues in the Central Texas area. The building has been featured in multiple architecture publications. It was built to take advantage of the gorgeous hill country views and sunsets. It has a gorgeous outdoor space with a custom built frame. Most couples use this as the ceremony location. It also features a wall of individual bud vases in the breezeway. The reception area is a beautiful open space with custom tables, banquette seating, and chairs. The focal point is without a doubt the working weathervane.
What are your wedding priorities?
When selecting a unique venue, it only seems natural to highlight the things that attract you to the space. For our grooms, the minimalist modern vibe of the space sets the overall tone. Both grooms wore velvet jackets in gorgeous jewel tones. They knew that pampas grass was going to be an important design element. They also let me know that having a couple of statement pieces was more important than overdesigned table centerpieces. Also, fewer interesting elements were more important than a lot of mediocre components. This event was in our Simple Sophistication price schedule.
Ceremony Highlight.
The gorgeous frame that highlights the hill country view was the perfect backdrop for this pampas grass inspired design. Pampas grass was front and center at both the ceremony site and the aisle entrance. The neutral tones were a perfect complement to the rich jewel tones of the wedding party and grooms’ attire.
The Rest of the Details.
The three main installations were the floral highlights, the outside ceremony area, the weather vane, and the wall inside the breezeway. The budget was focused on these areas and the other areas were kept a bit simpler. Strategies included using the wedding party bouquets on some of the tables, keeping the tables to a simple greenery accent. One of the grooms’s really loved the idea of the submerged greenery so we incorporated it in the high traffic area near the sign-in table.
We loved the way this fall wedding at Prospect House turned out. A huge thanks to our supportive vendors!
